Terms of Use
Welcome to HotZones. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the HotZones app and services, operated by Matteo Fairtlough (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
Eligibility
You must be at least 17 years old to use HotZones. By using the app you confirm you meet this requirement.
Your account
You're responsible for your account and for keeping your login secure. You agree to provide accurate information and not to impersonate others or create accounts for abusive purposes.
Acceptable use — objectionable content and behavior are prohibited
HotZones includes content created by users (plans, messages, profiles, and other submissions). You agree NOT to post, share, or transmit any content that:
- is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or hateful;
- is obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit;
- bullies, intimidates, or targets any person;
- promotes violence, self-harm, or illegal activity;
- infringes anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights;
- is spam, fraudulent, or deceptive; or
- impersonates any person or misrepresents your affiliation.
You also agree not to harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
Reporting, blocking, and moderation
HotZones provides tools to report objectionable content or users and to block other users. We review reports and aim to act on them within 24 hours, including removing content and/or suspending or removing users who violate these Terms. We may remove content or terminate accounts at our discretion to keep the community safe. If you encounter objectionable content or behavior, please report it in the app or contact matteo.fairtlough@icloud.com.
Content you submit
You retain ownership of content you create, but you grant us a license to host, display, and distribute it within the app as needed to operate the service. You're responsible for the content you submit and confirm you have the right to share it.
Location and accuracy
HotZones shows venue information, heat scores, and predictions for general discovery purposes. We don't guarantee the accuracy, availability, or safety of any venue or event. Use your own judgment when going out. Heat scores and predictions are estimates, not guarantees of what any place will actually be like.
Third-party services
The app uses third-party services (including mapping and place data). Your use of those features may be subject to the third party's terms.
Disclaimers and liability
The app is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (including under EU consumer law where it applies to you).
Termination
You may stop using HotZones and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the service or other users.
Changes
We may update these Terms. We'll post the updated version with a new date and, for significant changes, notify you in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and subject to any mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.
